Human Service Trust | About Us

Empowering our Dharma

The Human Service Trust (HST), a Non-Governmental Socio-Cultural Organization, was established by H.H. Swami Krishnanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj in 1979. The guiding principle of the Human Service Trust, initiated by HH Swami Krishnanand, is "Service to Man is Service to God."
The primary objectives include: - Serving the poor and the needy. - Promoting and propagating human and cultural values conducive to world brotherhood and peace. - Training a cadre of young men and women for voluntary social work. Operationalizing on three key terms—Sangathan (assembly), Satsang (preaching positive values based on Hindu Vedic-Sanatan scriptures like Gita, Ramayan, etc.), and Seva (being at the service of others)—the Human Service Trust believes in uniting like-minded individuals across the country in Mauritius and beyond. HST is fortunate to have individuals inclined towards music, through which values from Holy scriptures are conveyed during satsangs. The collective efforts of this like-minded group form the driving force behind the organization's service initiatives.

About our founding father, Swami Krishnanand Saraswati

Swami Krishnanand Saraswati (1900 - 1992), a former judge from India is the founder of Human Service Trust (HST) in Mauritius.
Over the years, whatever the problems one might share with him - whether personal or political or to do with one's writing - his advice was always wise. With the divine blessings of founder HH Swami Krishnanand Saraswati and adherence to his teachings, the Human Service Trust has consistently achieved its aims. The beliefs, goodwill, and trust of co-followers and co-social workers have played a pivotal role in realizing the institution's goals. Homage is rightfully due to all contributors who faced challenges in shaping the Human Service Trust. While some pioneers have left, others continue to offer guidance and blessings as silent observers. It is now the responsibility of the new generation to honor the founder's dreams and navigate the evolving paradigm for the next fifty years. Discover Swami Krishnanand Saraswati
